The Macondo JWST School COSPAR Meeting will be held at UIS, Central campus, Bucaramanga. Accommodation and meals will be fully provided for students and lecturers throughout the two-week workshop. Lecturers will have individual rooms, while participants traveling from outside Bucaramanga, Colombia, will share accommodations.

Additionally, selected participants may receive partial reimbursement of the economy fare to support their attendance.

How to arrive?

Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), Central Campus, is located in Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia, about 22 km from Palonegro International Airport (BGA). Here are the best ways to reach the campus:

1. From Airport

Taxi or share taxi (Fastest & Most Convenient)

  • You can book an airport taxi from the arrivals entrance.

  • Travel time: 40 min - 1h  (depending on traffic).

  • Approximate fare: 40000COP -  14USD

2. From Terminal Bus Station

Taxi or Uber (Fastest & Most Convenient)

  • There is a line taxi outside entrance 2, waiting to take

  • Travel time: 20 min  (depending on traffic).

  • Approximate fare: 18000COP -  6USD

Bus 

  • Stop in the Entrance 4

  • Travel time: 40 min  (depending on traffic).

  • Approximate fare: 3000COP -  1USD

The School of physics counts with a Relativity and Gravitational research group (GIRG), that contains also the Halley Astronomical group, that mainly focus on high energies physics applied to volcano radiography, but also lead some astronomical thesis related with galaxies and stellar physics with some international collaborations.
